ANTI- CARBONATION PAINT
Product Description
Sigma Anticarb has been formulated to confer long term protective and decorative properties to concrete and masonry surfaces. The micro-porous structure of the coating acts as a barrier to the ingress of Chlorides and Carbon Dioxide and other acid gases, but allows the passage of water vapour from the substrate.
It is free from strong odor and toxic fumes and cures to form a tough, matte, elastomeric membrane, which tolerates substrate movement and does not embrittle with age, or prolonged exposure to ultra-violet light.earance of the structure .
Sigma Anticarb is based on special material to meet the requirement to obtain the following required properties to make it suitable for use on concrete articles air-dryingexcellent adhesion.Thoughness with good elasticity. Good weatherresistance.

Typical Uses
Application on foam articles where heat, water and ultra violet resistance, longitivity and durability are desired. Also Where new and existing concrete and masonry structures require protection from Water, Carbon Dioxide, Sulphur Dioxide, Oxides of Nitrogen, Chlorides, Sulphates and UV radiation. Examples: car parks, commercial and industrial buildings, bridges, subways, high rise flats, roofing.
Advantages
Excellent UV and weathering resistance .
Provides Protection to concrete against ingress of Carbon dioxide and chloride ion.
Highly resistant to freeze/thaw cycling
Allows structure to 'breathe'
Water based and non-toxic
Provides Excellent Waterproofing to Concrete and mesonary surfaces
Provides good Antifungal and Anti-algae Properties.
Excellent Bonding to Concrete and mesonary surfaces
A Dry film thus formed provides protection against water permeability and
Carbonation
Surface Preparation
Substrates shall be clean, sound and free from contaminants such as oil, grease, moss, algae, dust and any existing loose or flaking paintwork. Concrete surfaces shall be fully cured and free from laitance, mould release oils and curing compounds.Mould or algae shall be removed properly with a fungicidal wash. High pressure water jetting may be deemed necessary for heavily contaminated surfaces.
Equipment Cleaning
Wet Tools/equipments with water and clean Tools prior to drying .
Storage and Shelf Life
Store in dry conditions, out of direct sunlight, at temperatures be 30°C/RT.
Precautions
Use gloves and protective clothing.
In case of contact with skin wash with ample water
Ensure sufficient ventilation.
Do not smoke or bring any naked flame during working.
Surface Preparation
Surface preparation is the most important step before application to get best results and to avoid failure.
The surface must be free from dust, coatings, loose particles, fungus, moss, oils, greases and mould release agents.
Clean the surface by scrapping, sand blasting, grinding to remove dirt & loose particles.
Treat the surface with 5 to 10% Hydrochloric acid followed by complete neutralisation with water which will improve bonding of the coating.
Oils,Greases and Mould release agents can be cleaned with solvents.
A] Brush coating application
For waterproofing of terraces, toilet blocks, swimming pools, water tanks and basements.
After surface preparation, pre-wet the surface with sufficient water.
Allow the surface to dry minimum for 1 hour. Mix @ 1.5 Kgs. of Ordinary Portland Cement with 1 ltr.of SUPERBOND homogenously till no lump or air bubble remains in the mix
Apply coating by brush and allow it to dry for 2 hours before application of second coat. Minimum 2 coats are required.
B]
Cement paint application
Mix 3-4 ltrs. of SUPERBOND with 50 Kgs. of Cement paint homogenously to form an uniform mix.
Apply the mixed and diluted cement paint by brush.
Allow to dry for 2 hours before application of Second coat.
It increases the coverage of cement paint by 20-25%.
C]
Patching mortar
Depressions, voids can be filled and levelled by using SUPERBOND mortar. Use 10% of SUPERBOND on cement weight.
Curing of SUPERBOND Coating & Mortars
SUPERBOND coating should be protected from movements or traffic for at least 48 hrs & should be kept moist for the next 24 hrs. by sprinkling of water or covering with wet gunny bags. Continue the moist curing for at least 72 hrs. before ponding.
Curing must be continued for minimum 28 days before exposure to weather. Ponding with water for 28 days itself is a water proofing test.
Storage & Shelf life
Store the material in cool & dry place. Shelf life is 2 years from the Date of Manufacture when stored in original unopened container.
Cleaning of Tools & Equipments
Tools & Equipments can be easily cleaned with water.
